Basketball College Championship

Written by: Zainab Al-Mahaweelee. Published by Ayesha Nadeem

The Basketball College Championship is a set of different teams, where there are over 68 teams available. Others also called it “March Madness” or the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division. In order to qualify for the championship, “a Division I college basketball team must either win its conference tournament or receive an “at-large” bid from the NCAA tournament selection committee” (The Twinspires Edge, 2022). One of the main reasons for its importance is due to the amount of games they hold, as well as the amount of teams that are included.

On the 4th of December, 2022, the season’s semi-finalists were announced: Georgia, TCU, Michigan, and Ohio State. A lot of the teams, so far, are looking very good and prepared. They have been ensuring their best to practice and to continue working hard in order to be fully prepared for the playoffs. An annual tournament takes place every March, and so far, the competition itself looks great, just like the teams.

Currently, “Alabama, Houston, Kansas and Purdue lead the pack as the four No. 1 seeds this year,” that have the higher chance of winning. The finals will be occurring on the first day of April this year. This year’s tournament is going to be very important like many others, especially due to the less strict COVID restrictions. Not only is this important for the teams that will be participating, but it’s also important for all basketball fans or players out there.
