National Play Outside Day will take place on November 5, 2022. Even though it's not a very well-known or historical holiday, now is an excellent time to emphasize the value of spending time outdoors.

The benefits of being outside for a while are essential for your health. "Studies also show that being outside in nature is relaxing, reducing our stress, cortisol levels, muscle tension, and heart rates - all of which are risk factors for cardiovascular disease," the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) states. Exercising outside is another incredibly useful thing you can do to enhance your health. Exercise outside has been compared to a natural antidepressant in studies. Because sunshine naturally raises serotonin, a hormone that fights depression and anxiety, outdoor exercise can help prevent seasonal affective disorder (SAD), depression, and anxiety.

Overall, nature is healing to both the mind and body. Therefore, it is important to make time for the outdoors.

“Nature brings peace and calmness to everyone, so don’t forget to spend as much time as you can outdoors”
